Privacy Policy
Last updated: 6 October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information the Arrow Buddy Android game ("Arrow Buddy", "the app", "we", "us") collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. By downloading or using Arrow Buddy, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.
Arrow Buddy does not collect any information that identifies you by name. The app does use Google Firebase to understand how the game is used and to catch crashes, and Google AdMob to show one advertisement, both described in detail below.
1. Information stored only on your device
The app saves the following directly on your phone, using standard Android storage:
- which levels you have cleared, and how many hearts you finished each with
- the level you are part way through, so it can be picked back up
- your sound, haptics and theme choices
- how many hints you have left, and your daily play streak
This information never leaves your device unless described under "Information collected via Firebase" below. It is removed automatically when you uninstall the app. Android's own backup service may include these preferences in a device backup if you have backup turned on in your system settings — that backup is between you and your device maker; we have no access to it.
2. Information collected via Firebase
Arrow Buddy uses the following Google Firebase services, each of which is also covered by Google's Privacy Policy:
- Firebase Analytics — collects information about how the app is used: which levels are played, cleared or failed, how often the app is opened, and general device information (such as device model, operating system version, language and approximate location derived from IP address). This is tied to an anonymous, randomly generated identifier, not to your name or email address.
- Firebase Crashlytics — if the app crashes or encounters an error, a report is sent describing what the app was doing at the time. This can include the device model, operating system version, and a technical log (stack trace) of the code that failed. This helps us find and fix bugs.
- Firebase Performance Monitoring — collects technical measurements such as how long the app takes to start and how it performs on real devices, so slow points can be found and improved.
None of this data is sold, and none of it is used to advertise to you.
3. Advertising
Arrow Buddy shows one advertisement: a rewarded ad, provided by Google AdMob, which you can choose to watch in exchange for two extra hearts when you run out. It is never shown unless you ask for it, and nothing in the game is withheld if you would rather not: the board, and every level, play on without it. AdMob is also covered by Google's Privacy Policy and may use your device's advertising identifier to select and measure that ad, unless you have limited ad tracking in your device's system settings. Arrow Buddy does not use this identifier for anything else, and does not build a profile of you beyond what AdMob itself needs to show the ad.
4. Notifications
Arrow Buddy can show you a single local reminder if you have an active daily play streak and have not opened a board yet that day. This reminder is generated entirely on your own device from your own saved streak data — nothing about it is sent to us or to anyone else, and no notification is shown if you have not built a streak or have already played that day. You can allow or block this notification at any time from your phone's system settings.
5. How we use information
We use the information described above only to:
- understand which parts of the game are working well and which are not, so it can be improved;
- find and fix crashes and technical problems;
- measure and improve the app's performance and loading speed.
6. Sharing of information
We do not sell your information. Data collected through Firebase and AdMob is shared with Google, solely as the provider of the Analytics, Crashlytics, Performance Monitoring and advertising services described above. We do not share information with any other third party.
7. Data security
Information sent to Firebase is transmitted securely using industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS). Data stored on your device uses the standard secure storage provided by Android.
8. Children's privacy
Arrow Buddy's target audience on Google Play is declared as 13 and over, so ad requests are not marked as child-directed. The app does not knowingly ask for or collect any information that identifies anyone, of any age, and Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics collect the same anonymous, non-personal technical data described in Section 2 for every player.
Google applies its own protections to signed-in players it knows to be under 18, including limits on ad personalization. The app cannot make that judgement itself, having no age gate or account — but it does cap every ad request at the “G” content rating, so the ads shown stay suitable for a general audience.
9. Your choices and data deletion
- In-app: Settings → Reset all progress clears every level result and setting the app has stored on your device.
- Uninstalling the app removes everything stored on your device, including settings and progress.
- Analytics data: to request deletion of data already sent to Firebase, contact us using the address below.
10. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes — for example, if a new feature starts collecting new information — the updated version will be published on this page with a new "Last updated" date at the top. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
